Hinges need strengthening (paste-downs separated), but are not detaching, endpapers browned and brittle with some loss (though not too extensive); further obvious browning restricted chiefly to half-title. A sound copy with only light wear at extremities. Front free endpaper with (probably) contemporaneous comments in slightly florid hand (a little smudge): "Bibliography - / Beyond all doubt/the Father and Mother of British/Military Polity, as its Five Editions/will prove.
